SAS3 (12Gbs)
LSI, jako přední výrobce SAS chipsetů (nejen pro řadiče, ale LSI SAS chipy najdete i na pevných discích) uvedl na trh SAS2 switch, který umožňuje budovat SAN strukturu s SAS komponentami namísto FC. Doposud byla SAS úložiště považována za typický Direct-Attached-Storage (DAS), tedy za zařízení, která lze připojit pouze k jednomu serveru. Uvedením SAS2 switche se z levného a velmi výkonného SAS konceptu stává základ SAN struktury.
